Rosie had to go make dinner...fortunately it's easy to dirve these rivets single handedly...since the bottom skin is not in place.

Here Rosie (a.k.a. the lovely and talented Connie) is driving home a few test rivets. I asked her if she would rather be ther bucker or the driver...she is the 'mother bucker'.

Time to do some riveting...and I need some help from Rosie

Another view...

I've been out of town for a while so I'm just getting back to work...here you see the top skin of the elevator which has been clecoed to the ribs. The green color is the anti corrosion primer. Note the aeronautical engineers best friend...duct tape, of course...which is holding the assembly up on the side of the table to make riveting easier.

After putting all those clecos in, your cleco hand get's this little palsy where it doesn't exactly work right. The only thing I've found is to get out the old 'garage guitar' and pick a few licks...kinda limbers you up a little.

Well...while I've been waiting for the parts that I need to finish the horizontal stabilizer, I went ahead and built the elevator. The elevator is actually wider than the horizontal stabilizer. It will attach to the horizontal stabiblizer along the left side in this picture. The cutout along the right side is for the trim tab which I havn't built yet. I havn't been putting the sequence of pictures for the elevator on the blog because I wanted to have the blog show the linear sequence the way it is supposed to go together...so I'll put those pics up later...this is a tease just to let you know that I havn't been idle. My airplane building friend Russ, in Connecticut is also building a Sportsman. He's a little ahead of me...or at least he thinks he is. Details to follow.
