To install these, you have to take the skins off. You get pretty good at putting the skins on and taking them off again...something that you have to do a lot of.

Here is one of the hat sections getting lined up for drilling.

Hey this is fun.

This is a 'hat section'. It kind of looks like a derby hat seen on end. These are used to give strength and shape to the skins in the inboard and outboard sections where there are no ribs. There are no ribs in these sections because fuel tanks are housed here.

More good help. This is Nick...for those of you who don't know. We rebuilt an old Jeep CJ7 a while ago, so I appreciate his working on this project. He's on his way to Law School...I am consulting him on product liability issues.

There are certain occupational hazards to this airplane building thing. My goal is to have all my fingers (and toes) at the end of the project.
