Sunday night was the moment. I've been working away for the last month building this contraption...I've never done anything like this before, or seen anybody else do this. Heck, I didn't even know what half the tools in my GlaStar toolkit were. So I'm kind of figuring stuff out as I go along...I make a few mistakes...I fix them...but am I really doing this right? The smiling guy in the picture is Arnie Clarke. He's been flying all kinds of airplanes for a long time and hopes to finish his GlaStar this year. So I invite him over for an inspection prior to closing everything up...after which time all my mistakes will be hiden forever. I kinda felt like I was bringing my fiance home to meet my parents for the first time. What if he doesn't like it? What if he tells me to rip it apart and take up needle point? Long story short, he says 'it looks pretty good'. We start pulling out Clecos and driving rivets. This is a first...kind of a point of no return. Definitely cool. Thanks Arnie...and sorry about those fingers...the rivet gun does have a mind of it's own.
